Love Live! School Idol Franchise
Creator: Hajime Yatate
First Released: 2010
Type: Anime, Manga, Game, Visual Novel, J-Drama, Idol Group, Music Ensemble
Genre: School Life, Idols, Drama(??), Slice of Life, Music
I didn't really feel like making several different tags JUST for this franchise. I think the majority of it was good, ESPECIALLY the first three generations of it. After Liella introduced more and more members the series kinda just... fell off. I don't really know how to feel about it since it's my favorite series OAT. Idk I just really like idorus.
Love Live! School Idol Project:
The first in the series. I rewatched it recently and it was actually better than I remembered it to be (it's been around five-to-six years since I last watched it?). I watched it in a decrepit backseat on my long trip back from Sacramento, and tell me why MY DATA WAS BUGGING ON THE MOST IMPORTANT PARTS!
Anyways yeah I thought this one was good, maybe even amazing. My favorite member was Kotori. Chun chun!
Love Live! Sunshine!:
The direct sequel(ish?) to the series, branching off to a backwater school idol group in a backwater town. The way they used μ's as a driving point for Aqours was great, and the way Aqours became their own independent group (unreliant of μ's' legacy) was inspiring its own way that μ's didn't use.
Personally I like this version better than SIP (most definitely because it was made with better quality—SIP needs a reboot or something). It was even the reason I used this sorta beach theming (or atleast TRIED to use beach motifs in the theme). It's also the source of that BGM I used!
I love the RikoYoshiko dynamic moreso than the RikoChika dynamic solely for the comedic preference.
Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club
My personal favorite amongst the franchise, maybe because it was the first I was exposed to. It first began with a super mysterious recommendation on my Google Play Store (YES i own an android): "Love Live! School Idol Festival: All Stars!", the parent game that introduced the troupe.

One Piece
Creator: Eiichiro Oda
First Released: 1999
Type: Anime, Manga
Genre: Pirates, Action-Fighting, Supernatural (U.P.S!!!)
I think this part's a given. I feel as though anyone would know this show, or maybe it's just everyone around me.
I KNOW the story but I actually haven't read/watched that much of it (WAY TOO LONG!!!). I've seen the fight scenes though; they're really cool! I love Gear 5 Luffy.
I played Pirate Warriors 4, and I think that's where I got the majority of the story. I think it was from Alabasta up to pre-Gear 5 Wano. That's majority of the story, right?
Charlotte
Creator: Jun Maeda
First Released: 2015
Type: Anime, Manga
Genre: School Life, Tragedy, Drama, Action, Psychological, Supernatural (U.P.S!!!)
Where powers are treated more as a disease than actual "super" powers. I remember this mainly for that little kid (MC's sister) that blew up an entire school out of fear of being cut up.
Toaru Series
Alt Title: 'A Certain' Series
Creator: Kamachi Kazuma
First Released: 2004
Type: Anime, Manga, Light Novel
Genre: Supernatural (U.P.S!!!), Magic, School Life, Religion (Sorta???), Action
I don't remember much about this series, as there were simply too many things to remember.
The power system is dope (I LOVE UNIQUE POWER SYSTEMS) but there were way too many factions, non-memorable (at least to me) recurring characters, and off-screen/line relations that sorta just happened for the sake of happening??? Frenda's powers weren't even explained (she pulled out a rocket and got her face blown off)
Most notably I really liked:
- Accelerator's Vector Control
- Touma's Weird Dragon Things?
- Misaka's Railgun (undoubtedly my favorite, I learned fleming's left hand super early bc of this LOL)
And my qualms:
- That weird indian poker arc
- Aleister Crowley
- NO SEASON 4 OF INDEX
Jungle Juice (CW)
Creator: Hyungeun Jo
First Released: 2020
Type: Manhwa
Genre: Action, Supernatural (U.P.S!!!), School Life, Romance, Tragedy
CW: Gore and a bunch of other disturbing stuff.
^ Despite all that, I think it's a really good manhwa if you're not totally creeped out by bug-humans and cannibalism and yadayada. When I first picked it up I thought it was kinda creepy, but it was one of those manhwa's where I really just liked the artstyle... 😅.
The fight scenes are really vibrant since it's a manhwa (fully colored pages!) and I REALLY like the dynamic between Suchan and Huijin. Though that cliffhanger got me tweaking... (as of 9-18-25)
Majo no Tabitabi
Alt Title: Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina
Creator: Jougi Shiraishi
First Released: 2016
Type: Anime, Manga, Light Novel
Probably one of the first light novels I was actually WILLING to read. I loved the story's structure: every episode/chapter Elaina would end up someplace new. I started off with the anime, got hooked, and read the light novel. I kinda ran out of time though, and stopped reading it halfway into volume 7 (I think?)
I don't remember much about this story, but I really feel like that her relationship with Saya kinda influenced my yuri obsession. Yikes that sounds odd, but it's a gut feeling.
Gachiakuta
Creator: Eiichiro Oda
First Released: 1999
Type: Anime, Manga
Genre: Action, Supernatural (U.P.S!!!)
I found this series through the manga off of upcoming anime adaptations, and as usual, got hooked because of U.P.S. . I mean, the idea of 'trash' weapons is such a great idea!
I really really love Amo's vital instrument—the moment they revealed that her and Rudo's treasures were part of a series I figured it'd be like the Marvel infinity stones or even the Dragon Balls, where if they collect all of them something would happen. Besides that I thought that illusionary shoes were pretty dope.
Dragon Ball
Creator: Akira Toriyama
First Released: 1984
Type: Anime, Manga
Genre: Action, Supernatural, Comedy
I don't know much about it but I HAVE interacted with the series at some point of my life. I just don't remember when. I know this mostly for Vegeta's "It's over 9000!!!" and for verbalase's oddball beatbox battles. Perhaps I know it mostly for Vegeta.
I played 'Sparking!! Zero" one time, it was pretty fun! It was Toriyama-san's last major work (alongside Daima, also R.I.P. GOAT), and I think it was great he left such a legacy behind.
Ranma 1/2
Creator: Rumiko Takahashi
First Released: 1987
Type: Anime, Manga
Genre: Action, Supernatural, Genderbending, Romance
I found this show on Netflix (its reboot) and thought it was interesting. I think the genderbending genre is interesting (is that weird??) considering not many series exist with that plot driver. However, like all the existing genderbending anime out there, it gets pretty weird at points(Ranma's girl form's just blatantly naked sometimes?? Like I get censorships weren't all that important back in the day but damn).
I watched up to what the reboot's season 2 (maybe some of 3) would be of the original, and in my opinion, it's one of those anime where the dub is actually better(?) than the original JP dub, or maybe I was influenced a bit by the netflix reboot.
I also love love Shampoo, she's my favorite character (even though I don't usually like blatant love rivals lol).
Oshi No Ko (CW)
Creator: Aka Akasaka
First Released: 2020
Type: Anime, Manga, J-Drama, Music Ensemble
CW: Suicide, Incest, Probably Pedophilia? idk a lot of horrible things
Genre: Drama, Psychological, Idols, Supernatural, Romance
The ending was horrible. The things that occurred that lead to the ending was terrible. Aqua and Ruby's co-starring roles in a romantic tragedy (THEY'RE SIBLINGS!!! AND SARINA WAS A CHILD WHEN SHE REINCARNATED) was a horrendous decision. The fact that Aqua killed himself with his father (he had no reason to???) was a terrible plot point.
I GUESS I was rooting for Kana to win over Aqua, I rescinded that opinion when I remembered that Aqua was a grown ass man in his past life. It gets even worse when you think about how it was implied Aqua practiced kissing with Ruby for their act (his patient in his past life, who was also a CHILD).
The whole thing about Aqua trying to find his mom (his idol)'s killer (was Ai his mom or his idol??) was actually kinda stupid in hindsight. SURE he found the dude but killing himself WITH the guy he was trying to find and kill was stupid.
Only good things were the actually kinda banger (and sorta overplayed) theme songs (both OP and ED) and Arima Kana. The basically Love Island arc which introduced Akane was an odd addition.

Creator: 'sing N song'
First Released: 1999
Type: Light Novel Anime (Adaptation Announced!), Manhwa, K-Drama (Adaptation Announced!)
Genre: Supernatural (U.P.S!!!), Action, Apocalyptic, Magic, Fantasy
One of the first Manhwa's I remember reading, solely because of its position in Webtoons recommended section (I think??). Not many words can describe this story, but first thing that came to mind is that it's really amazing. Its characters are very memorable (though I can't differentiate between TWSR character or actual person), and the Constellation (Historical/Mythical Figure) System is VERY intriguing. The fact that the whole Dokkaebi schtick is a streaming enterprise is a very interesting take on the dokkaebi tale and I really REALLY love Han Sooyoung.
Solo Leveling
Creator: Chu-Gong
First Released: 2018
Type: Light Novel, Manhwa, Anime
Genre: Supernatural, Action, Fighting, Fantasy
When I first read the manhwa through recommendation I believed it to be one of the cooler ones. When the anime came out years later, I was... a bit iffy on it.
Sung Jinwoo's just an aurafarmer throughout the story. He was pretty fine across the first season... which I didn't watch. Since all he was was an aurafarmer I just ended up watching the Second Season solely for that fight on Jeju Island, the one arc I kinda remembered out of the entire story.
The side characters aren't very memorable, and it's a common thing that you can't remember their names (unless you're like, a Solo Leveling superfan or something). In fact, writing this, I kinda forgot Jinwoo's name and had to Google it.

Mayonaka no Heart Tune
Alt Title: Tune In To The Midnight Heart
Creator: Igarashi Masakuni
First Released: 2023
Type: Anime (Adaptation Announced!), Manga
Genre: School Life, Romance, Harem
It kinda reminded me of Quintessential Quintuplets when I first found it, but with the change in which the love interests aren't related. Yamabuki is the goat (Uesugi is incomparable).
I personally enjoyed the love interests more than the Quints, mostly because ALL of them are actually likeable characters! I'm rooting for all of them, but right now the story's leaning more towards Nene, who might just be a red herring. I LOVE Shinobu though, and I'm rooting for her amongst everyone else. Bardners in Grime. Rikka's brown hair curtains might slightly disturb me when the anime comes out. Iko's qualms about her monotone VTuber persona kinda reminded me of Rina from Nijigasaki.
Chiikawa
Creator: 'Nagano'
First Released: 2020
Type: Anime, Manga, Theme Park
Genre: Slice of Life, Magic, Comedy, (Slight) Horror, CTDCT
I found out about this Sanrio-parallel series through Usagi's fat ass. Have you ever seen that one clip of that Discord call, where Hachiware and Chiikawa are eating a giant omelette, Hachiware says "We can't finish this all on our own", commentary says "But I know who can!", and-
Tongari Boushi no Atelier
Alt Title: Witch Hat Atelier
Creator: Kamome Shirahama
First Released: 2016
Type: Anime (Adaptation Announced!), Manga
Genre: Magic (U.P.S!!!), Fantasy, Supernatural, Action, Psychological
Qifrey looks like Gojo. Or does Gojo look like Qifrey...?
*Update: I found out Gojo looks like Qifrey. Tongari Boushi (Witch Hat) came out earlier LOL.
Besides that, I think this series is amazing! I really love the artstyle, and I love the development of Coco and everyone around her. As I wait for translation updates, I'm a little lost as to what's happening (I keep starting new series in between chapters) and I'm currently considering re-reading the entire story.
I love the whole 'art is magic' system! So much that oftentimes my doodles end up being the glyphs that they draw (mostly the flight glyph). The way pro witches keep their drafts as nearly closed circles; so cool!
Boku no Hero Academia
Alt Title: My Hero Academia
Creator: Kohei Horikoshi
First Released: 2014
Type: Anime, Manga
Genre: Superheroes, Supernatural, Action, Drama, School Life
This one doesn't get the U.P.S. tag solely because it's the typical one-power per person shtick. However, the way its used is AMAZING. I was first exposed to the series through a watchparty in which they watched Season 3 (the hero license arc I believe?), which lead me down an odd MHA rabbit hole. It was then I found out: the series is great; the fandom is not.
I was particularly cackling at the readers' remarks about the absence of BakuDeku by the end of the story. I mean, Izuku and Ochaco were practically established at the beginning of the story!
Jujutsu Kaisen
Creator: Gege Akutami
First Released: 2018
Type: Anime, Manga
Genre: Supernatural (U.P.S!!!), Action, Magic, Dark Fantasy
I don't get the hype. Gojo's just there to be hot and he simply died at the end. Odd.
Quintessential Quintuplets
Creator: Negi Haruba
First Released: 2017
Type: Anime, Manga, Visual Novel
Genre: Romance, Harem, School Life, Drama
One of those odder ones. I KNOW I mentioned this alongside 'Tune Into the Midnight Heart' but that one's just so newgen I couldn't help but compare it. This show was a notorious harem anime such that everyone was split between which Nakano quintuplet would win. I never thought it would end, but I was genuinely shocked when Yotsuba won. I suppose she was the most reluctant on loving Futaro (besides Itsuki, I think, I don't remember) and that it was mainly split between Ichika, Nino, and Miku (personally I was rooting for Miku 😭😭)
Steven Universe
Creator: Rebecca Sugar
First Released: 2013
Type: Cartoon, Musical
Genre: Supernatural (U.P.S!!!), Slice of Life, Comedy, Action
I LOVED this show. LOVED because it's over.
The story is memorable, the songs are catchy ("Let Me Drive My Van Into Your Heart" is stuck in my head), and the foreshadowing. THE FORESHADOWING IS AMAZING!
Genshin Impact
Creator: 'HoyoVerse', 'MiHoYo' at the time of release
First Released: 2020
Type: Video Game, Anime (Adaptation Announced! Just that nobody knows when it'll release LMAO)
Genre: Fantasy, Comedy, Open-World, RPG
One of those obligatory anime games at least every anime fan has played or at least knows about. I was a bit of a late arriver, starting the game mid-Inazuma. Is that late?
If anyone cares I mained Keqing for some time (the only 5-star I had) before pulling Hu Tao—in which I used her to catch up. I then experienced burnout (like every other Genshin player there for the hype).
UNDERTALE / DELTARUNE
Creator: Toby Fox
First Released: 2015
Type: Video Game
Genre: Fantasy, Supernatural, Horror, Comedy, RPG, Visual Novel
This was a series I had an entire obsessive phase about. Like most UNDERTALE fans, I was a Sans kid. I got the game for the purpose of FIGHTING Sans. When Sans was revealed as a Mii costume for Smash Bros. I freaked out. I bought the Sans skin. I believe I know Sans' fight in the game move for move. I could probably get a no-hit on him with enough practice.
Besides my obsession for Sans I really enjoyed the game. I enjoyed its story. I even wrote an entire presentation on it as a project back in 5th Grade. I was that passionate about the game. The Neutral, Pacifist, and Genocide routes were really well written. I particularly enjoyed the Pacifist Route (typical) since it really delved into Frisk's relationship with various characters. Flowey's reveal as Asriel; a character that's been alluded to for the majority of the game, was really shocking. He was one of those characters that's been under our nose this entire time.
And don't even get me started on Gaster. Or whatever his name might be.
DELTARUNE, the 'sequel' to UNDERTALE (or whatever their relationship might be) is a really mysterious continuation of Toby's work. Since it's spread out into chapters rather than one singular story, it adds a certain charm (and ESPECIALLY MYSTERY) into it. The gap between chapters 2 and 3/4 of it felt like such a long time
Gakkou-Gurashi!
Alt Title: School Live!
Creator: Norimitsu Kaiho
First Released: 2012
Type: Anime, Manga
Genre: Suspense, Tragedy, School Life (evidently), Horror, CGDCT
One of those anime that I simply dove into blindly. Majority of ones I've watched I've at least heard something about once before, but this one? It hit me like a truck. It was so impactful that I can't think about it without simply shivering.
Upon finishing the anime, I quickly discovered the manga. I thought it was over when the Graduation Ceremony occurred; I was overjoyed when I found there was more to come.
However, this series is one of the more aged ones, and I don't remember many details. Kurumi's shovel was goated though. I might just rewatch it.
Needy Streamer Overdose (CW)
Alt Title: Needy Streamer Overload
Creator: 'WSS Playground'
First Released: 2022
Type: Game, Music Artist
Genre: Psychological, Romance, Visual Novel(ish??), Raising Simulator
CW: Drugs, Self-Harm, a bunch of bad stuff
One of those games I kinda just played in silence. I actually really loved this game for its really cute aesthetic, and Ame's such a relatable character (kinda!)! This was one of the games I took the time to actually 100%, and the ending payoff was so worth it. As I played the game, the contents of Secret.txt was such an enigma, so much that I wanted to know what was in that file. As I took that journey to get there, there were three endings that stood out to me.
Gosh just thinking about these endings makes me shiver
Rainbow Girl
This one was first and foremost mostly for the fact that spooked me at 2A.M. . The ending triggers when you make Ame take 'Magic Paper' five times, in which she'll fully conk out and start stream; her full KAngel model zooming into the camera as the words "You were my guiding light" displays onscreen. She then goes on to claim that she knows everything about herself, me (player) and the world, as if the drugs gave her some sort of revelation. It's a really spooky ending, as she goes on claiming things under the influence for about three minutes before the game ends.
Galactic Express
A bit of a later addition to the game (RIGHT when I got the game btw), Galactic Express was more of a deeper ending. Like various other endings, this is triggered by doing all five netlore streams, then doing drugs at noon; in which a Galactic Express will appear in the 'Go Out' section. Here, KAngel talks about her various struggles on the internet, all while she admires the 'beautiful things' she sees on the Galactic Express. The train then 'terminates' with no explanation as to what happens next—the stream ends there. What happens next is up to interpretation, and I believe she k*lled herself, as seen by the ending text, "I'm a real angel now..."
SMT
This was more of an anticlimactic one. This was the last ending I needed to attain 100%—and to achieve Comment te Dire adieu, the true ending. This required RNG, which made it harder to achieve. Not only did I need 100% mental darkness, I needed to roll a number between 0 to 20... out of 100. Thankfully this was the bonus from getting all those endings, otherwise I'd need to roll 66 and 6 in succession on two days. It ends with the Windose spazzing out and hard-resetting, the words "DELETE IMMEDIATELY" written everywhere on screen before Ame spams "AAAAaaAAAaAaAaAaaaAaaaaAAAAAaAA" and restarts the game. You get the ending, but there's no end screen; the game just restarts. That was the anticlimactic part. There was no part to record other than the Steam achievement you get at the very bottom corner.
And there I had it.
Comment te Dire adieu.
This opens up a new save file: Save 0. Opening it up, you expect something new, but it starts at Day 0. I believed it to be a fresh restart. But no, Ame decides to do everything on her own this time; she decides not to rely on P-chan (player). She feels like she's getting into the mindset of the proper streamer, and that's good! She's choosing not to rely on others and start working with just herself. Ame still has her flaws from time to time, but she's able to make it work out. She's able to make her own decisions instead of waiting for P-chan to make them for us. She realizes, then and there soon enough... that maybe she doesn't need P-chan after all. She decides to find her own future, and thanks us for everything, before ultimately leaving to take her own path. She wants to forge her own future with her own hands instead of putting that burden all on someone else.
Ame then leaves, giving P-chan (us) the full jurisdiction over the Windose interface. Over some somber music, you realize that Ame's webcam isn't controlled anymore. You could move it away. You could delete it.
You could access secret.txt.
I'd always wondered what was in that file, especially since Ame would block it everytime you simply hovered over it with her webcam out of the way. When I saw that you could finally open it, I took the chance IMMEDIATELY.
Inside, there were insights on the "Current P-chan". She loved "P-chan", but couldn't stand people being ONLY nice to her, which we basically were the entire game. She wanted to create a new P-chan of her ideals, one "so dreamy she'd never wake". She decided to work on herself first however, striving to become marriage material, and hoping to "live a new life happily married".
The thing about this is that you don't know what happens to Ame next, the game simply ends there. It's a path of uncertainty, outside the jurisdiction of that Windose interface. She's not bound anymore. She's not at P-chan's beck-and-call as to what to do next. She's on her own this time. And I think that's really inspiring.
If I'm wrong or sound stupid about any of this please correct me I hope I'm right about what I said

Type: Streaming Enterprise, Idol Group, Manga, Game, Music Ensemble
Genre: Idols, Music, Variety, Horror
One of those darker periods I found myself in. I was primarily there for the 'weeb' hype, but the way I obsessed endlessly over it makes me cringe as I look back at those times. Even though I still kinda follow the franchise (I know who's graduating from time to time... 😞) I'm not as overly obsessed over it as I was before in prime Hololive EN. Before I kinda left the fandom I really liked Ina'nis, her artstyle's one I really love!

Creator: 'Cygames'
First Released: 2018-2021 (debatable)
Type: Game, Anime, Manga, Music Ensemble
Genre: Fantasy (in the case that they're anthropomorphic horses), Racing, School Life, Raising Simulator, Roguelike
I was indoctrinated (is that the right term?) into this series pretty early on in its days, when there wasn't a global version out for it yet. I was particularly struck by 'Umapyoi Densetsu' for its catchy chorus, in which I went on to download the game; failing due to my crappy android phone at the time (I was able to run SIFAS but not this??).
I think it was a really fun(ny) idea to turn real-life race horses into glorified anime girls, and I heard that the jockeys/owners of said horses had a say in their designs! If that's true, that's actually pretty awesome (though I also heard that Daiwa Scarlet's jockey wanted her bust to be bigger than Vodka's???)
I watched the anime to make up for my FOMO from not playing the game back in its JP-only days, and I thought it was great, though I never ended up watching the rest of the seasons that came after. I love Cinderella Gray! I've seen clips of it and I love Oguri Cap.
My favorite horses are Kitasan Black, Gran Alegria, and Haru Urara (RIP GOATS 😭😭😭). Also, have you heard of Skibidi Rizz? I heard he's he's related to Grass Wonder.
